How to Apply for Canada PR from India? Step by step guide.

Canada boasts one of the world's most advanced immigration systems. Canada is on track to welcome approximately 4,00,000 new immigrants each year under the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2021-2023. With this news, the Canadian government has simplified the procedure of applying for a Permanent Resident visa. Applicants can apply for Canada pr through the Express Entry System in the following simple steps:

Step to Apply for a Canada PR from India

STEP 1: Get your ECA done

You must have your educational credentials evaluated by a recognised assessing organisation in Canada, such as WES, ICAS, or CES. This is done to see if your educational background fulfils Canadian educational standards.

STEP 2: Take your IELTS exam

Complete your IELTS/CELPIP exam and score higher than the required minimum in each of the four modules: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

STEP 3: Create an Express Entry profile

By registering for the federal Express Entry program online, you will be asked to build an Express Entry profile. After that, your profile will be added to the Express Entry pool, together with the profiles of other applicants.

STEP 5: Get an Invitation to Apply (ITA)

You will be awarded an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency if you meet the minimal CRS cut-off score in the next Express Entry draw. You now have 60 days to complete and submit your Express Entry application, as well as any supporting documentation.

STEP 6: Go through police and medical background checks

You'll also have to go through a background check with the police and a medical check. These required screenings prove that you are in excellent health and have no criminal background.

STEP 7: Application Audit by IRCC

After you've completed your application, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will evaluate it and verify the papers and information you've given. This process takes about 4-5 months to complete.

STEP 9: Apply for a Canada PR status and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)

What is the processing time to apply for a Canada PR?
